Career-author and TV writer George RR Martin is on the way to become a legend in his own time with his grandest epics of A Song of Ice and Fire, which begins with A Game of Thrones. Published by Bantam Books, launched this amazing novel, this epic fantasy series in 1996.

A Game of Thrones provides the usual fantasy genre world with medieval technology and sensibilities, Martin and enrich them with much detail, clever use of political intrigue and amultifaceted development of the social order of his magical kingdom.

The Fantasy World Setting

On the scale of a true epic, A Game of Thrones covers many different countries, from the rugged northern landscapes of the old piney woods, rich cities with high castles, burning deserts and barbaric nomad camps. One overarching theme of the world is the special climatic conditions, move into the season slowly. It has been decades in the summer and winter in decades. AsA Game of Thrones opens, it is said that the summer is fleeting, and with much suspicion that the time winter comes.

The social order is composed of nobility and bourgeoisie, sent as smallfolk described. Religious violence is dominated by the state, the Church prays the Seven, but this was superimposed on a much older religion was closer to nature. All of the castle strongholds of the old families contained a sacred grove called Godswood. Once all Godswoodscontain a heart tree as divine presence, but most have been torn since the advent of the seven. But one of the most important aristocratic families in history who have Starks, nor honor the ancient gods and a heart Godswood tree in her family.

An omnipresent force in the history of the Wall in the north. It is an old and massive construction of the ice, the guards civilization from the savage people in the far north and other supernatural imminent dangers. The wall is occupied by the Night's Watch. The Night Watch's members do not take women and they are supposedly committed to celibacy. Some menVolunteers for the Night's Watch, which will be called among the black, but because the duty is less attractive, the need calls for the rows are filled from the captured criminals as well.

Characters and plot

There are no votes to try to convey the complexity of the plot of A Game of Thrones, but suffice it to say, the flash point of immense plot of the fantasy novel is the incumbent of the dynasty of the downfall of Robert Targaryens Baratheon that instead of tookhalf a generation before the opening of the novel. In this setting, a recent riots, old ambitions and resentments linger among the powerful families who sided with which during the war between Baratheon and based Targaryens. Two heirs of Targaryens survive in exile, and land reclaim her kingdom.

Daenerys - The young and beautiful surviving daughter of the old Targaryen dynasty, they kindled in her the strong mystical force that once her familymore than any other. Your family is "the blood of the dragon" and again in their care are the dragons of old. The pups suckle at the breast. With such growing power at her command, the usurpers of their kingdom will certainly know their anger at the appropriate time.
The Starks - A large part of the fantasy novel from the perspective of the members of this family, Eddard, Catelyn, and told her children. They are compelling characters, which move from the sympathy of the reader, mainly becausetheir decisions tend tragic.
Jon Snow - The Bastard of Eddard Stark, his mother is a mystery. Jon Snow, knowing full well that he can not be his father's inheritance, decides to take the black and join the Night's Watch on the wall.
Tyrion Lannister - He is a dwarf, based on the fantasy genre tradition, which often leads dwarfs, unless he is not a different breed. Tyrion is a human dwarf. He is much reviled by his family, but he finds power in his scheming joke and he is a thoroughlyinteresting character.

The strength of Martin as a writer comes through in his characters. He constructs his fantasy novel entirely from the perspective of different characters. Each chapter is for the character, the driving history for that portion of the novel is named. The style of Martin's story is told more than K modern fairy tale charm. His imagination is not intended for children, which has made him a resounding success. In addition, the Martin dominatedCliffhanger. He knows what it takes to finish a novel and a reader can truly more.
