During this time, Atari set the standard for video games. In fact, before Nintendo came in the late 1980s, the word was synonymous with Atari video games.
Even more popular than the system itself were the games that were created to go along with the Atari 2600 Many of the following games are still a staple in arcades around the world:
• Adventure - often as the first action-adventure videogame allows adventure fans move through to a charactercolor-coded castles in search of swords and keys.
• Asteroids - A favorite of Star Wars fans around the world, Asteroids gave players the chance to have a spaceship through hyperspace control and shoot you to different kinds of space debris.
• Frogger - Fans of the game will remember that moving a frog through a busy street, dodging cars, trucks and buses in the hope of reaching a river on the opposite side.
• Gravitar - In this classic sci-fi game, players would orbit the surfacefrom different planets and shoot at the bunker on the surface.
• Haunted House - players can sync their way through a Haunted Mansion, which you navigate a maze, avoiding bats, ghosts and monsters on the road.
• Joust - Flying around in a bunch, would players have to maneuver their way through the field in an attempt to kill buzzards.
• Pac Man - Perhaps the most popular video game of all time, Pac Man would move the players to a hungry yellowCircle through a maze of small dots.
Many of these Retro Atari Classics are in the minds of the people who spent their childhood playing Atari plastered. These games stood the test of time and will continue to be played in arcades around the world for many years to come with them.
