EA Sports' NHL series has a kind of roller coaster history. Back in the 90s, owned the market with its EA Hockey NHL-9X series on the old Sega Genesis. EA has never been able to translate that success to the future generation gaming game consoles. The NHL 2K series of hockey gaming was to be a kind of cult-favorite for a few years in the early mid-2000s, when EA seemed to spiral towards obscurity.
Then came NHL 08, and everything changed. A completely new game engine and maderedesigned to play the game, including the introduction of Create-A-Game, EA put back on the map in a big way.
EA Sports NHL 09 starts there, where from NHL 08 to the left. It has excellent gameplay and graphics and are easy to learn for those who with 08 NHL. There are lots of sliders, which can affect various facets of the game at various levels to help the player enjoy the gaming experience. Not much has changed this year to the version in the past year, which is actually a good thing(Some companies try too hard to change what is not broken). They have in the franchise mode, Exhibition mode will be kept, and you create a player mode is there to create a new and exciting "Be A Pro mode, which is a player and to advance through the system of a team While you can play as him only on the ice. It's very immersive.
The Art of Innovation stick out of the state of the NHL game is back and this year the defense will also receive the benefits of taking the skills stick for even more realisticDefensive controls.
The AI in this game is as good as the last installment. No longer do you fly in a ring, and continuously to the slot pass for a timer. After a while the AI takes to adjust your strategy accordingly, and is forcing her to set your game experience.
Online play is fun again this year with EA Sports Hockey League. Players can now leagues online and that compete for the championship
All in all a great game. DesirePlay goalkeeper, was a little more realistic, I can not seem to get the knobs to perfect. But I really do recommend this game.
